Good Friday

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”  – John 3:16 KJV

Greetings to you in this Holy Week! It’s a new month – April!

What a wonderful way to start a new month – remembering Christ’s death on the cross (Good Friday) and His resurrection (Easter)! God’s love for us is immeasurable and so deep that we are adopted and redeemed by Him through Christ’s death on the cross. Read the four Gospels on Christ death this early morning of Good Friday..

Psalms 103:8-13 says, “The LORD is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy. He will not always chide: neither will he keep his anger for ever. He hath not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquities. For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them that fear him. As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us. Like as a father pitieth his children, so the LORD pitieth them that fear him.”

Jesus gave His life to remove our transgressions and to redeem us as His children. Christ’s love must never be forgotten. Whenever I think back into my life and the years that have passed by so quickly, I see God’s love in my life. How much the Lord sacrificed for us all!

O sacred Head, now wounded,
with grief and shame weighed down,
now scornfully surrounded
with thorns, thine only crown!
O sacred Head, what glory,
what bliss till now was thine!
Yet, though despised and gory,
I joy to call thee mine.

When I Survey the Wondrous Cross

1 When I survey the wondrous cross
on which the Prince of glory died,
my richest gain I count but loss,
and pour contempt on all my pride.

2 Forbid it, Lord, that I should boast
save in the death of Christ, my God!
All the vain things that charm me most,
I sacrifice them through his blood.

3 See, from his head, his hands, his feet,
sorrow and love flow mingled down.
Did e’er such love and sorrow meet,
or thorns compose so rich a crown?

4 Were the whole realm of nature mine,
that were a present far too small.
Love so amazing, so divine,
demands my soul, my life, my all.

_____

What thou, my Lord, hast suffered
was all for sinners’ gain.
Mine, mine was the transgression,
but thine the deadly pain.
Lo, here I fall, my Savior!
’Tis I deserve thy place.
Look on me with thy favor,
and grant to me thy grace.

As we remember Christ’s death on the cross today, and His resurrection this Sunday, may we also remember the reason why He came to earth to die for us, sinners. May we never forget how much God loves us, so much that we sent His only Son to earth to take away our sins.

Read Isaiah 53.

May God’s blessings be with you and your family this week as you remember Christ’s death on the cross as well as the upcoming Easter Sunday. :))

In Christ,

Hannah 💞
