Goodbye 2021, Hello 2022! ✍🏼

Reflecting on the year 2021:

“O give thanks unto the Lord; for he is good: because his mercy endureth for ever.”

Psalm 118:1

The year 2021 has been full of events that has brought me much closer to God than I was before. Through the year 2021, there were many “ups’ and “downs”, but only by God’s mercy and grace, He has helped me go through every step and every day. Romans 8:28 says, “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.”

I thank the Lord for His mercies and grace He has bestowed upon me this year, and for the bountiful goodness and blessings of the Lord! Thank God for seeing me through and helping me complete my second last year of High School, Grade 11. It was quite a busy year of studies and other events but thank God I managed to finish up the whole Grade. Thank the Lord also for the good health He has granted to all of us that we hardly fell very sick. and also for the safety He has granted to my family and relatives throughout the whole year. I am immensely thankful and grateful to our Almighty God!!

The fullness of His blessing encompasseth our way;

The fullness of His promises crowns every brightening day;

The fullness of His glory is beaming from above,

While more and more we learn to know the fullness of His love.

Thank God also for enabling me to serve in church – in the GYC (Gethsemane Youth Choir) monthly recordings, GCC (Gethsemane Church Choir) hymn recordings for the church, and the Youth Media Team. Many weeks of hymn, and choir recordings are very tiring, but by God’s help and strength, I am thankful for the opportunity to serve alongside other youths and friends in the church despite the ongoing spread of Covid-19. Despite the many restrictions made to ease the spread of Covid-19, the many Youth Fellowship held either online via Zoom or held physically has encouraged me a lot and the fellowships that I had with fellow like-minded friends and youths in church has brought much encouragement to me and also with encouraging one another in the Lord. Hebrews 10:25 states, “Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.” How blessed it is to have fellowship with one another in the Lord!

Remembering also the skin biopsy I underwent earlier this year, the month of August when the post-vaccine side effects led to the unexpected rush to the A&E after my second dose of the covid-19 vaccination, and the checkups that required me to take so many blood tests. God has always been there to help me through these difficulties. Psalm 28:7, “The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise him.”

God has seen me through the year 2021, and helped me go through all the “ups” and “downs”. With God’s help, may the year 2022 be a fruitful year of studies and service to Him. Counting God’s blessings and provisions throughout this whole year are many.. praise God for the goodness of the Lord that never faileth!

All glory be to God! Psalm 121.

A year of precious blessings

And glorious vict’ries won,–

Of earnest work progressing,

Its onward course has run;

To Thee, O God, our Refuge,

Whose goodness crowns our days,

Within Thy earthly temple,

We lift our souls in praise.
