Why?
Fear grips the hearts and mind of many people around the world. Fear of death. Countries all over the world are desperate. Many are dying everyday, hundreds, thousands. Many countries are infected with tis deadly flu.
The coronavirus, COVID-19.
It all began in a province of China, Wuhan, where the viral outbreak started. But this flu, not any normal kind of flu we experience now and then, but a deadly flu that attacks the lungs of its victim, kills. Also named the COVID-19, this coronavirus since last year December 2019, the virus spread rapidly.. and soon to all parts of the world.
2020 – a year that started so terrifying, so deadly. The coronavirus spreads and spreads.. till it reached Singapore and all other parts of the world including the United States. Many countries wasn’t ready to fight this viral infection. It was different from all other usual flu we get. What would people do? It’s the natural instinct that we, humans have, Fear. Panic. Why would men fear this deadly viral infection?
Death and its sting.
As Christian believers, we should not fear. We have a hope in Christ — eternal life in Heaven! Although we might fear the pestilence, the Lord is with us all the time. We have the Word of God, and God Himself with us, what have we to fear? Isaiah 41:10 states, “Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.” Truly, the Word of God will comfort us during this times of suffering and pain.
Psalm 46:1 “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.”
“Never Fear He is Near…” Christians have nothing to fear, but what about the life we are living now? When this got so serious in late March, our church activities had to be either cancelled or suspended till this outbreak improves its situation. Life isn’t the same as it was before, of course. What more? We cannot attend church services every week or other fellowship groups! How bad it is. But for the safety of many, this just had to be done.
Thinking over all these, it is all God’s sovereign will. His will is the best. No matter what the situation is, or how bad it will be, all is under the hands of our Almighty. Fear not, for the Lord is with us. Even though we might be the next patient to be in the intensive care unit, it is Go’s will for us. May we all trust Him during this time of the COVID-19 and don’t stop praying.
Stay safe my dear friends! 🙏
